The Japan National Advisory Board, the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG-NAB Japan) contributes to the development of the market and ecosystem for impact investing through research and publication, awareness-raising, and networking activities.

Secretariat

The following organizations perform secretariat duties including acting as a business contact, planning and organizing meetings and events, conducting researches and external communications.

  • Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN)

    An international non-profit organization founded in Singapore in 2012, with more than 600 organizations and companies from over 30 countries engaging in social investment and strategic philanthropy. It aims to activate social investment and strategic philanthropy in Asia and maximize the impact. AVPN provides capacity building opportunities and a platform for collaborations among member organizations.

  • Social Innovation and Investment Foundation (SIIF)

    Aiming to create a society in which social issues are solved and various values are created autonomously and sustainably, we work to realize an ecological system of social and economic resource regeneration that goes beyond the framework of self-help, public assistance, and mutual assistance. We are working on developing models and practice of impact investment including social impact bonds, improving environment for practice and dissemination, research and policy proposals. SIIF carries out these activities with the support of The Nippon Foundation.

  • Kazetotsubasa Co., Ltd.

    Kazetotsubasa provides research, policy recommendations, consulting and communications services to promote public interest activities initiated by private sector. It works in collaboration with companies, governments, foundations, philanthropists, and social ventures to realize social finance and innovative philanthropy, let alone impact investing. Its service spans from upstream policy level to the ground level, marked by a range of collaboration and knowledge generation activities across sectors. The company has been involved in the GSG-NAB Japan since 2014 and acted as a lead author of the Expansion of Impact Investing (2015 and 2019).

  • K-three Inc.

    K-three works on research&development and implementation support to introduce new methods to improve performance of social impact management that incorporates advanced technology and pay for success government-private sector partnership. It also develops GovTech platform products for the implementation of Evidence-Based Policy Making (EBPM).

  • The Japan Fundraising Association

    The Japan Fundraising Association was established in 2009 with the support of 580 founders from 47 prefectures in Japan, with the aim of creating a society that promotes donations and social investment. As a not-for-profit organization for people who are involved in fundraising at private non-profit organizations and for those interested in social contribution such as donation, it provides a wide range of activities including: a fundraiser certification program, annual fundraising conferences, education for children about social contribution, promotion of bequest giving, and publication of annual reports on giving and volunteering.
