Shinsei Bank, Limited, Mizuho Bank, Ltd., SIIF, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited, and several investors participate in the fund as LPs (limited partners).

The fund size is JPY 3.6 billion (as of August 2020). From the perspective of supporting development and expansion of companies and businesses contributing to building an environment where people in different situation can continue working, the fund invests in venture-to-mature-stage companies related to such a sector.

1)Participation by multiple investors

In 2017, Japan Impact Investment I Limited Partnership (commonly known as “Child-care Support Fund”) was established by Shinsei Corporate Investment Limited, a parent company of Shinsei Impact Investment Limited. The fund was established with Shinsei Bank Group's own funds, aiming to be a demonstration as the first impact investing by a Japanese financial institution.
The Hataraku FUND was established based on such experience and became a more advanced scheme with investors outside the Shinsei Bank Group.more advanced scheme with investors outside the Shinsei Bank Group.

2)A management structure that makes the best use of each partner’s strength

Prior to the launch of the Hataraku FUND, Shinsei Impact Investment Limited was established as a consolidated subsidiary funded by Shinsei Corporate Investment Limited.
The Hataraku FUND was launched and is managed jointly by Shinsei Impact Investment Limited and SIIF. In this way, the management structure for impact investing has been strengthened.
Furthermore, with Mizuho Bank’s participation in the FUND as a management adviser, it is expected that the Bank’s network and innovation support function will be utilized. The management structure that makes the best use of each partner’s strength has been established.
